Dumb question - are you running a firewall? If so, did you open a
hole for Samba? (There is probably a checkbox for it.)

How to do that in FC8?

Thanks

Using the GUI firewall manager, add ports 137 and 138 as UDP. Add ports 139 and 445 as TCP.

netbios-ns 137/udp # NETBIOS Name Service
netbios-dgm 138/udp # NETBIOS Datagram Service
netbios-ssn 139/tcp # NETBIOS Session Service
microsoft-ds 445/tcp # Microsoft-DS
