Fedora 8 : xcb_xlib.c:41: xcb_xlib_lock: Assertion `!c->xlib.lock' failed

Attempting to reinstall x-plane under F8 I am rewarded with the following:

X-Plane-DVD-Install: xcb_xlib.c:41: xcb_xlib_lock: Assertion 
`!c->xlib.lock' failed.
Aborted


Another example to indicate that this problem is bigger than just an 
issue with Java.
