If you had read through the bugzilla reports that I linked (or better yet, you would have noticed this link... https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/KernelCommonProblems which tells you that acpi=off is a really big hammer and of course you don't need to add timesource=acpi_pm to kernel parameters to get Fedora 8 - x86_64 to boot on an Optiplex 320... it's already shut that all off because you're using acpi=off. Hardly subtle... I really wish that people with Dell Optiplex 320's would get signed up on these bugzilla entries and provide feedback/pressure to get these things solved once and for all. Again - to reiterate... the two active bugzilla reports on Dell Optiplex 320's are: General report - probably the only hope here is to get them to fix grub so it works on this hardware... https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=219715 This is the kernel-developers bug and hopefully will work out the kernel issues and the regression in 2.6.23 with respect to this hardware... https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=379201 Craig
