Re: upgrading from F7 to F8

Hey Tim:

I forgot to mention that I was doing a hard disk install from the DVD iso image because I don't have a DVD burner.  :-(  The machine I have is only a 1.6GZ box.  Slow by today's standards.

The Check Dependencies procedure seems to pause for a long time at the 25% mark and about the 50% mark.  between 25%-50% there seemed to be a noticeable progression of the status bar.

Regards,
Lou

You have been lucky.
I have had the same, or similar, problems frequently
with previous CD versions of Fedora, both upgrading and clean installation.

I've come to the conclusion that the CD or DVD reading part of anaconda
is not the best.
The most annoying part was when it said it did not have the driver
for the CD reader, after it had been using it for some time.

I long ago gave up trying to use CDs or DVDs,
and now always use hard disk upgrades.
