Here is what I found when I got my new computer. There were 3 very

A red hat problem is that you need to edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf with a
Option "software pointer" "true" and this will work IF you get into
your grub.conf file and erase the kernal modifier that starts rhxxx . If
this is working you will still not have a pointer in X-windows.
The new BIOS is real bad. It must be what is causing all the stupid
changes in partition names. You can get used to it, but I will never
like it.
My old computer had a much better BIOS which let you specify
everything just like you want. The video driver was known to FC2 and up.
The new computer is small and pretty and twice as fast. So I got my
money's worth but like so many things now, new is not better. I am
getting a new Washing Machine in 7 days to replace our 25 year old
Maytag that is just too old to fix again. I bet the new washer doesn't
last 25 years. I will hang around and see. I will be just 100 years old
then :-)
