Start X: Gnome/KDE?

Hello Friends

I had Gnome installed, and after booting to init 3, when I need X, I did
'startx' that started Gnome.

Now that I have KDE installed too, when I issue 'startx', it starts the
default: Gnome, and if I need KDE, as root I have to issue 'init 5' or
'gdm' and then login from there as an user.

Is there any command that can directly start KDE?
