Matrox Binary Drivers with newer Fedoras

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi all,

slightly off-topic, however I have the hardware I have and I would
really like to use Fedora on it..

Has anyone gotten the Matrox drivers from matrox.com to work with
Fedora 7 or 8? The binary drivers are precompiled for Xorg 6.x and
7.0.0 and no newer binaries are available. DVI output with OSS drivers
is not adequate for my 1400x1050 LCD monitor.

I managed to compile the source distribution (producing mga_drv.so) but
it gives only a 800x600 resolution. Under RHEL4 the precompiled
binaries give 1400x1050 but there's also mga_hal_drv.so used and I fail
to see how could I get it running with newer Fedoras.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks!
