I get the same thing with that command, but this works:
g77 -v xsimple.f
That is interesting because I have no g77. Had that on FC4 but not in F7.
I can find no fortran compilers on F7. I guess you need to yum them.
I had to compile an old fortran program. That particular executable is
in compat-gcc-34-g77.
