A poor filetype matcing mechanism is the cause of the fault. Both Java
JAR files and OpenOffice.org files are files packed in a ZIP archive.
The filetyping scheme is too dumb to tell them apart, and claims that
they're whatever it thinks a ZIP file is.

You can try flip flopping the default over to it thinking all such files
are OpenOffice.org files, by right-clicking, opening the properties, and
changing the open-with program. But then you'll have the reverse
problem, but if you never double-click JAR files, or ZIP files, that
won't matter to you.
