what if you create a new user and run wine under this user graphical session?
If with this new user wine is ok, try to see if under your "bad" user, you have in
.wine/drive_c/windows/fonts these two files:
INTERACT.FOT
INTERACT.TTF
In case remove them and try to login again as this user to see if the problem was corrected.
Or compare the fonts directories for these two users.
