According to the above, you've already got it installed.  The following
line is just the older version still on their server:

>> php-common.i386                          5.2.2-3                fedora

That's the same package.

I'm not sure what your problem is.  You seem to have it, the repo yum
looked in had it.  Were you misreading the version numbers?  Were you
expecting updates to otehr related PHP packages?

Using FC 4, 5, 6 & 7, plus CentOS 5.  Today, it's FC7.
