Not many details that allows anyone to really help.
What video driver are you using?
Does it crash if you don't use compiz?
Have you tried to ssh into the "box" from another machine?
I ask these as I have the same issues but I can ssh into the machine and
kill Xorg which will allow the machine to start working again.
