What version of Fedora are you using? FC6 or below comes with
firefox-1.5, whereas FC7 comes with 2.0.

Just as a side note, a few third party repos provide FF2 rpms for older Fedora releases. I used this one with FC6 for a while before updating to Fedora7, and it was flawless.

http://remi.collet.free.fr/index.php?2005/10/02/8-telechargement-installation-et-yum

For FC6 just

 > wget http://remi.collet.free.fr/rpms/remi-release-6.rpm
 > rpm -Uvh remi-release-6.rpm

and then

 > yum update

should bring in FF2 for you (agmonst other things)

if you would rather not enable this repo by default all the time, then turn if off in the repo file and enable at the command line, e.g.

 > yun update firefox* --enablerepo=remi
