I'm upgrade this kernel too and the only problem is the iwl3945 not
working, but that's the easy one, update iwlwifi-firmware from koji
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=11168 (current
status is update-testing) and viola, the iwl3945 working again, and
regarding bug #241507 have a stable WPA support right now.

Beside that my suspend-resume and internal mic is working too. All in
all, the new kernel is rocking... ;-) Thanks a lot the fedora kernel
maintainer.

Back to your problem, vmware need to configure again if you change your
kernel. So if your new kernel-header and kernel-devel already there you
must do vmware-config.pl again.

Hope this help.
