You shouldn't expect to see any differences, it is after all just a video 
driver ! 

The fact you see the nvidia splash screen means you must be using the nvidia 
driver, so all is OK.

The glx-utils package provides the glxinfo and glxgears utilities.


so you need to run

 > yum install glx-utils

you could also try running the official nvidia config application

 >  nvidia-settings
