This is strange.  As I've just said in another thread
this update also affected my Pro 3945abg, but I'm
using the ipw3945 module.  Fortunately it's okay
the second time I've booted into the machine into
this new kernel (still ipw3945).  I was probably
wrong to suggest dkms was at fault then.

Fingers crossed yours resolves itself in the same
way.
