Everything Paolo says plus be sure to defrag the drive before running
any partitioning software. Partition Magic costs lots of money - another
possibility is to use a live Linux cd to boot from which probably
includes qtparted or parted wihch will do the partitioning/re-sizing of
the ntsf drive for you just as well as Partition Magic. I have used a
Knoppix cd/dvd for this successfully several times.
