the pages http://linux6400.wordpress.com/ & https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=241249 are for after linux has been installed successfully. It sounds like linux will not install at all. "command--gedit/boot/grub/menu.lst" you need to type gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst to edit gurb options but however if linux would not install you may not be able to edit grub because you need to have linux installed before you can edit grub. Are you using the recovery console to enter these commands?
Did you test the DVD media when it prompted you? maybe the ISO or burn was bad & mabe you need to re-download the ISO & re-burn it.
