Hi, Take a look at transcode - Its a CLI application for converting audio(and video) between different formats. I believe there are also GUIs frontends for it (KDE transkode), if you are into that sort of thing. As a previous poster said, its always best to try and rip from an original lossless format, but on the odd occasion I needed to do this, transcode worked quite well. cheers Chris
