Try changing ntfs to ntfs-3g.

You are trying to use ntfs when you should be using ntfs-3g. You can
test this by running:
ntfs-3g /dev/sda1 /mnt/sda1
or
mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sda1 /mnt/sda1

Either command should work.
