So, here's an idea for Fedora 8 to reduce the size and load on the mirrors, while at the same time providing any number of predefined DVD and CD iso image downloads: Get jigdo (or something similar) working with Fedora (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jigdo for info) Then the mirrors only have to have the rpms themselves, no DVD images or CD images, just the template files for them. Then make all the rpms available on bittorrent, allow any Fedora users to seed their yum cache on the torrent if they choose to, and downloads are likely to be faster with less load on mirrors. A win-win all around!
