Missing the step during (normal) install is quite difficult, as it
really requires you to enter a minimum of 6 characters, twice. If you
used a kickstart file though, it's very easy to miss the step ;-)

You can always try and boot from into rescue mode and edit the
/etc/passwd or /etc/shadow file by hand, removing the password for the
root user.
