When I yummed this software and discovered it will display DVD Movies I was very happy. While others have manged to get Totem to do this I was never able to. Since Totem is so poor it was carried over to F7 where many folks had trouble making it view Movies. There was all manner of dark talk about secret files needed that you can go to jail if the FBI finds you have it.

Several asked what else will vlc do? Well just now I copied my FC4 Desktop to this FC6 and it has a bunch of .wmv files from my buddy in Austrailia. They are funny and have good music. It turns out that vlc plays these .wmv files much better than Mplayer on FC4!

So it plays DVD Movies and Files. A real Multimedia software.

I discovered vlc a long time ago--I got tired of trying to make totem work and gave up.

Vlc will not play Flash video; mplayer will. Other than that, vlc will play just about anything. I've also used it to take screenshots from movie files and DVD's.
