Why yum want to install software that I do not need?

Hi all,

I see some strange behaviour on yum update.
It seems that yum thinks that I need some uneeded software.
Today this is the problem:

yum check-update
        Loading "fastestmirror" plugin
        Loading "downloadonly" plugin
        Setting up repositories
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
Reading repository metadata in from local files

        dovecot.x86_64 1.0.1-4.fc6 updates
        ruby.x86_64 1.8.5.52-1.fc6 updates
        ruby-libs.x86_64 1.8.5.52-1.fc6 updates
        yum-metadata-parser.x86_64 1.0.3-2.fc6 updates

yum update dovecot ruby ruby-libs yum-metadata-parser
        Loading "fastestmirror" plugin
        Loading "downloadonly" plugin
        Setting up Update Process
        Setting up repositories

This should be OK, and I think that it's all that I have to do to bu updated.

But if I run yum update

Where I'm wrong?
Why I have to install for example evolution-data-server for i386 when I have only evo for x86_64?
and why I need meanwhile or other thing?

Or better, why yum check-update didn't say that I have to upload more software?

Tnx
