I had problems with gnucash on x86_64 also.
I ran gnucash from terminal window to see the errors.

I had found partial answer to get gnucash searching the Internet.

http://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-test-list/2007-April/msg00194.html

I did
yum install gtkhtml38.x86_64

I do not remember what happened next with gnucash. Think I got another
error so I installed the library to satisfy that error.

Afterwords, I was able to run gnucash.
Please note: I do not print from gnucash.
The bug reports seem to imply printing is/was issues.
I have no idea if printing is working from gnucash.
