What can be the reason for this? What is the output of the command uname -a Specifically, does it contain the string "SMP"?
I think the earlier kernels for FC6 had smp in them. The latter ones such as the one the OP mentioned are able to automagically detect the smp-ness of the cpu. I use that kernel on my FC6 installation and my X2 4400 is properly indentified. I was stumped by the OP's question too. ne... -- Registered Linux User # 125653 (http://counter.li.org) Certified: 75% bastard, 42% of which is tard. http://www.thespark.com/bastardtest Now accepting personal mail for GMail invites.
