When I look at my process list, I can see that only some of the usual gnome session processes have started. I've tried fresh installations of both the x86_64 and i386 versions on my brand new HP nx7400 Core 2 DUO laptop. In fact, I _just_ completed an install of the i386 version (PXE installs in each case), and I'm having the same damn problem - gnome doesn't start properly. I wasted my evening getting this shit installed.
