That's interesting.
I haven't had any problems with F-7,
but with FC-6 I got CD read errors in several cases
even though the disk passed the media check.

It would have been nice in those cases
if one could have re-tried the read
(eg by taking the disk out and putting it back in),
as one can on Mr Gates' system,
but unfortunately Fedora seems to require you
to start again from scratch if there is a bad read.
