I have a web/mailserver that is currently running FC5.

I was thinking about upgrading it to Fedora 7 in the next several days by
booting it off of a CD and pointing it to the image on my fileserver.

This is the output of "free":

            total used free shared buffers cached
Mem:        498880     492428       6452          0      40992     180828

Swap:      1015800        128    1015672

Do I have enough ram to run the upgrade? Should I run it in text mode? Or do
you have any other suggestions?

You have plenty of RAM. If you are worried that F7 will encounter
problems with your graphics adapter you can run in text mode;
otherwise, go with the flow.
