so far i've found myself burning coasters just like another user. i burn
the CDs with K3B, the checksums turn out fine, but when i try to boot
the disk it stalls for a while and just says "boot failure...press any
key to reboot" and that's it. no errors, no warnings, no nothing.

has anyone else experienced this problem? this machine has had various
versions of Fedora Core without any problem.

so far Fedora 7 is turning out to be a total bust for me.

Is the burner drive also the boot device? If not, your problem may be
that the other CD/DVD drive is not able to read the media. Use CD-R,
burn at a low speed, and avoid CD-RW for situation like this.
