There was a recent success using slmodem-2.9.11-20070505.tar.gz and ungrab-winmodem-20070505.tar.gz that it supports the motorola sm56k modem. However, why not check out the smartlink ones, they work and are not too expensive http://www.geeks.com/products.asp?cat=MDM plus, I have a page designed to help with modems supported by slmodemd code http://www20.brinkster.com/olivares/slmodemd-setup-1.html and some successful updates to newer kernels http://www.geocities.com/olivares14031/ Just a thought.
