That's actually "hp:/", not "hplip". hal-cups-utils >= 0.6.3-1 selects that
automatically, so no manual action is needed if the printer is installed on a
fully updated FC6 system. Otherwise, set it up in system-config-printer (the
tool you're supposed to use to configure the printers on Fedora, not the CUPS
web interface).

System-config-printer has never (FC2 -> present) worked well for me.
Since it just configures CUPS, I always go directly to the CUPS web
interface.

But I will give s-c-p another chance in F7.
