Edit /etc/yum.conf and add the following lines:

proxy  url to the proxy server that yum should use.

proxy_username
        username to use for proxy

proxy_password
        password for this proxy

More information can be found by running man yum.conf on the command
line. proxy_username and proxy_password are not required unless your
proxy server requires a login.
