My card is housed in an HP Pavilion laptop model ZX5000 - fairly high end for
its time

Personally, I don't care for Beryl - don't use it after giving it a try. I'm
in television production, and I use this box as an experimental platform for
trying the various LInux programs for content creation - so, that's my
interest

Having realized that I'm getting much better performance than I thought, I'll
probably just stick with fglrx for now, but I'll track the progress of the
radeon driver project, and give it another shot down the road
