Hi,
I was wondering if there are any plans of getting a F7 with xfce just as
there
are for gnome and KDE? I guess I would be interested because XFCE is light
on
the resources: the current way of installing fedora and xfce does not work,
because you get a lot of gnome junk regardless of whether you choose to
install
it or not.
Any plans on making life simpler in F7? Sort of like xubuntu: I am
interested
because the response of xubunut vis-a-vis ubuntu is something to be seen to
be
believed!
This are no plans to as of now. If you are interested you can join
fedora-devel list and start working on it.
Or go to xubuntu, i guess. Fedora seems to be in serious backward pedal: note
that they got rid of automount and editing of removable media in /etc/fstab for
absolutely no reason, except to make it only for fluffy users, not people doing
serious computing.
This has nothing to do with XFCE based spin. Auto mount devices works
fine for me on FC6. If it doesn't work for you file a bug report.
Mangling /etc/fstab to do automatic mounting of devices had several
problems described in detail in hal list in freedesktop.org amoung other
places.
