How do I start figuring out what is going on here? There must be something wrong in my dotfiles somewhere, since I have had puplet work on other systems. It also works in a new test account I created on this system.

First thing I would try is to confirm that your system does have packages which need to be updated by manually doing a "yum update." If "yum update" returns nothing, then puplet has no work to do :)

Rawhide is currently frozen for F7T4 in which case there are no updates to be retrieved.
