I've had the same experience as Andy, variations on losing the display,
having
it lock-up, etc., most frequently when the box was under heavy I/O load
( e.g. using
Azureus for bittorrent transfers).
That would actually be the opposite experience, I meant 'solid' in terms
of being dependable, not as in locked up solid :-) Although she runs
several other apps on her desktop (OO Writer and Konqueror usually) all
day none are dying as Firefox is and the X session and everything else
(X, KDE, other apps) is fine before and after Firefox terminating and
disappearing.
