Both will work.

You've heard the various opinions of folks here and the pros/cons. Now, it
is up to you to decide. You need to go to 3ware.com and promise.com and
read up on their products. You then need to go out and price them to see if
they fit in your budget.

You also need to determine if you are going to use PCI-X slots in your
system or if you are going to use PCI-E. Then you need to decide how much
total storage you are going to have and what level RAID you are going to
use. That will determine how many ports you will need on your card.

You then have to consider the server itself. Is it highly used or lightly
used. The lower end (inexpensive) cards are a combination hardware/software
raid and will place additional load on your server's CPU.

Don't ask "someone" on this list to "tell" you what to buy. Nobody wants to
get an angry email from you when they advise you what to buy and you end up
unhappy with the results.

I encourage you to go to the sites and do your own research.
