US Robotics still makes them.  My understanding is that at least the
USR5610C is a true hardware modem.  Expect to pay more for it ($80
list).


Jim, if you click on the Pricewatch URL you will find a US Robotics
modem for under $50,

 . Per the web page the modem is Linux compatible.
