All,
Is there a tool that is capable of editing Macromedia shockwave files
(swf, flash)? Not looking for Adobe's expensive tools. Wondering if there
is any Linux solution.
No, there are open-source projects that have attempted to remedy this
problem, but none are ready for end-users yet as far as I know.
Most promising project: http://www.uira.org/
This one looks interesting as well, and has Fedora RPMs for download!

You can run the Macromedia software on Fedora using wine. Last time I
tried Macromedia Flash MX it was very unstable and I saw lots of strange
glitches in the gui. But since I've upgraded wine to the latest version
it seems to be a lot better, to the point that I'd say Flash MX is
actually usable.
(Mind you, I'm still using Fedora Core 5, and it was a bit of a mission
to get Flash MX to install in Wine - your experience may differ :)
Hope that helps,
Marcel
