Huh, mine wasn't working either, I've done a bunch of updates, so just for grins I put in a DVD and sure enough "Forbidden Planet" with a very young Lesley Neilsen and alien-mini-skirted Anne Francis (WOW! The uber NSM!) icon now shows up on my KDE desktop. Something must have been fixed.
