I am having real issues getting sufficiently fast graphics

Here is the CPU information:
Dual processor Pentium
Nvideo graphics controller V34 (GFX 5200)

Here are the outputs from glxgears and the opengl -info command:

glxgears
1958 frames in 5.3 seconds = 369.800 FPS
1920 frames in 5.3 seconds = 364.159 FPS
1920 frames in 5.3 seconds = 360.915 FPS
1920 frames in 5.3 seconds = 361.136 FPS
1920 frames in 5.3 seconds = 361.087 FPS

GLX gears ran very jerkily. However I have never seen it running. I do
know that people running similar systems have reported much higher
speeds according to the archives on the FC6 mail list. I will see if
there is a better video driver, possibly on the nvidia website.

I appreciate any help you may be able to provide.

You are running with software rendering only. If you want 3D
acceleration, you need to install the proprietary nvidia driver
instead of the open-source nv driver. Get a packaged driver from
Livna or ATrpms.

http://rpm.livna.org/ or http://atrpms.net/dist/fc6/
