I had an interesting experience today. I upgraded the kernel to 2.6.20

could see the pointer but it did not skitter across the screen when told

still have a working machine. The lists seems quite on the subject, so I
am just curious, anybody else out there having the same problem?

Try checking bugzilla, too.

This bug was reported when the 2.6.19 kernel was released:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=223606

Try the fixes some have reported for their system. Add your input if
nothing works for you. By the way, the 2.6.20 kernel fixed the 223606
bug for me.
