I downloaded the madwifi source from madwifi.org http://madwifi.org/wiki/Compatibility To build and install, I boot into single user mode, cd into the madwifi source directory and do make followed by make install. I then reboot into normal mode. The first time you install, you'll need to do a few extra steps that are detailed in the INSTALL file in the source.
