I use the graphical interface (Gnome) , so I do not know what is the
real command!!!

Running poweroff from a terminal should power off your system. If you
only want to reboot the system, running reboot in a terminal should do
the trick. Running halt should set it to shut down but will not power
off the computer through the power management features.
