diskless boot: anyone else having trouble with network in initrd nashafter PXE?

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

When booting diskless, after PXE gets an IP address from DHCP and boots the kernel, the initrd is loaded and nash runs the init script. Eventually it tries to start up the network interface (which is already up under PXE):

network --device eth0 --bootproto dhcp

This fails with recent kernels / mkinitrds. It works fine with kernel
2.6.18-1.2869 and the initrd created by the then-current mkinitrd.

My bug report is:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=225479

I am curious if other diskless booters are seeing this problem? If not, how does your setup differ from ours?
