Re: Graphic card

Here's my experience with ATi card on a laptop (M24 1T [FireGL M24
GL], IBM ThinkPad T43p, ya, I knew the mobile cards are different from
those AGP cards, and this is just FYI). It works well with X.org
driver although 3D performance is too slow. With ATi proprietary driver,
there are many problems:

1. Unable to do suspend/hibernation.

2. mplayer can't switch to full screen mode, or can't switch back
(because mplayer need to change the screen resolution to keep
pixel drawing as fast as possible)

3. mplayer would become very slow if you just drag the replay window
to a bigger size on a high resolution monitor (mine is
1600x1200). This probably means that the proprietary driver have
   poor 2D performance??

None of them happens on X.org driver.
