Jim:

The "Development Tools" group I believe has the compiler and other itemsneeded to compile programs on the machine. You can either use
yum groupinstall "Development Tools"
or select the development group from the add/remove programs.


OK - looks like I installed the necessary bits (./configure works).

However, there was one 'issue' -
./configure: line 1652: dbl: command not found

Is this a problem?

It just occurred to me that I might have to be in SU mode; is that correct?
