I had to change some BIOS options regarding ACPI. It seemed there was some changes between releases, and the combinations of my hardware and BIOS didn't co-operate until I fiddled with the BIOS settings. I can imagine a similar problem happening between versions of kernels. -- (This box runs FC5, my others run FC4 & FC6, in case that's important to the thread.)
