In general:
1. Get the crash trace. (strace)
strace gnome-cd > gnome-cd-trace.log 2>&1
2. Try running gnome-cd under a debugger. (gdb)
$ gdb gnome-cd
> run
<gnome-cd dies>
> bt
<copy the output from the terminal to the bug report>

1. Get the kernel log. (dmesg)
$ dmesg > dmesg.log
2. Attach the system.log (/var/log/message)
3. Get the PCI dump.
$lspci -v > lspic.log

sometimes bug don't get resolved. That's a fact of life. (True for both
OSS and proprietary code companies)
However, the better the bug report, the higher the changes it'll get
resolved.
